If I get trichomoniasis once, can I get it again?

There's no vaccine for trichomoniasis and it's possible to get reinfected if you've had it before.

Once you are treated and cured of trichomoniasis, it is possible to get it again. About 20% of people get infected again within three months after treatment. To avoid getting reinfected, make sure that all of your sex partners get tested and treated if infected. Once you have been treated, it is recommended to wait a week before having sex again.
