Why should I get tested for an STD?

Nearly 20 million people are infected with STDs each year, the majority without having a single symptom. Getting tested protects the sexual health of both you and your partner.

Why are chlamydia and gonorrhea tests only available together?

We test for chlamydia and gonorrhea together. The test for both chlamydia and gonorrhea is the nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), and the lab tests for both STIs at the same time. If you are at risk for chlamydia, you might be at risk for gonorrhea, so it’s a good idea to get tested for both.

When will I get my results?

Results are available usually in 3 business days or less in your secure online account. If you purchase trichomoniasis or HIV Early Detection testing, all results are usually available within 5 business days.

Is a physical exam required for STD tests?

No. Our tests only require a blood and/or urine sample. You won't need to undress or deal with any uncomfortable swabbing.

Do I need to fast or prepare before taking an STD test?

Fasting is not required for blood tests, and we ask that you do not urinate one hour before a chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis test. Other than that, all you need is your lab order.

What is "APG Services"?

"APG" stands for Analyte Physicians Group, the medical practice behind STD Test Express. You'll see "APG Services" on emails we send you, as well as on your credit card statement. We do this to help protect your privacy.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel your order prior to your lab visit and within 21 days. Refunds will be issued minus a $35 cancellation fee. No refunds will be provided after 21 days from the original purchase date and the order will be cancelled. Where can I go to get tested?

How private is your service?

Privacy is one of our core values. STD testing is a private manner and we understand that. We are HIPAA compliant. We send discreet communications to your inbox, and "STD testing" will not appear on your credit card statement.

When you go to the lab for testing, you do not need to tell the front desk why you are there. Just say "lab testing" or "diagnostic testing" is the reason for your visit. How do I know if I have an STD?

If you're worried about one STD, we recommend testing for most of the common STDs. Most STDs don't cause any symptoms. Often, the only way to know your status is to get tested.
