Oprah Discusses Transgender Sexual Health

GET TESTED

Oprah Winfrey has long been a cultural discussion icon. Recently, she explored the effects of menopause on women’s sexual health. In the course of the topic, several new drugs were explained. It turns out that many of these drugs are used not only to maintain sexual health among menopausal women but also transgender women who have recently completed gender transformation surgery.

One such drug is known as Estratest. Esterified estrogens and methyltestosterone combination is used to treat the symptoms of menopause in patients who did not get relief after being treated with estrogens alone. These symptoms may include a feeling of heat, sweating, and warmth in the face, neck, or chest (“hot flashes”); and dryness, burning, and itching in the vagina. Additionally, some research shows that this drug has helped women post-menopause and post-gender transformation surgery to achieve orgasm. It is dangerous to miss doses of this medication as it can cause severe side effects.
