Michelle Sobel Sep. 21, 2011
Sexual health is something that should be on a person's mind regularly, but many people trying to avoid even thinking about the subject. MSNBC reports that there is one time when sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) seem to be on the forefront of individuals' minds, and that's on Mondays.
The news source was citing a Danish study that found websites providing information regarding STDs are most often visited on Mondays.
"A remarkable finding - given that the website is accessible 24/7 - is that the number of visitors per day still peaks each Monday," researchers said, quoted by MSNBC.
The study found that the only time the site was visited on a day other than Monday in such a high volume was on a Tuesday after a long weekend. This suggests that people are more concerned with their sexual health after engaging in weekend and holiday activities.
To avoid worrying about developing an infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends getting tested at least once a year, though that figure rises depending on an individual's sexual activity.
