LCD Soundsystem urges crowd at Reading Festival to practice safe sex

Michelle Sobel Aug. 30, 2010

Daft punk may not be the only thing playing at LCD Soundsystem's house.

The dance-punk group recently closed out the first night at the UK's popular Reading Festival with some advice concerning sexually transmitted diseases.

Their set included "Us V Them" and "Daft Punk is Playing At My House," and provided that reportedly enthusiastic (and muddy) crowd with a brief talk about safe sex.

"What other advice? Have safe sex," frontman James Murphy said, reported NME.com. "Don't to go on a date with anyone you wouldn't marry!"

The advice may be timely, especially to the young UK residents who may have been in the crowd. According to the UK's Office for National Statistics, the rate of sexually transmitted disease has been on the rise for the past decade.

Chlamydia remains the most common STD infection, with the highest occurrence being reported in London.

One way young people anywhere in the world can practice safe sex is through regular STD testing, to ensure their body is free of any infections or diseases.ADNFCR-3476-ID-19933004-ADNFCR
